Partnership Programs

DIS works with our Partners to provide greater opportunities for your students to study abroad through customized partnership programs. A partnership program is a specific cooperation agreement between a U.S. university or specific department, and DIS.

It is a tailor-made and specialized curriculum arrangement designed to meet the needs of students at a particular institution(s). The goal of a partnership is to seamlessly add another dimension – in the form of a course and study tour - to the existing DIS program, to serve the particular requirements of your institution, departments and students. Partnership programs can make study abroad an option for students who may otherwise have difficulty studying abroad without delaying graduation.

Key Features:

  • A partnership program must normally take place within one term of the DIS Academic Calendar: spring, early summer (6 credits), late summer (9 credits) or fall
  • A partnership program can be established as a one-time offering or as a trial program with the goal of offering the program every semester, every second semester, every summer or every second year
  • A partnership program can be closed - only organized for students from your own institution - or open to other qualified DIS students
  • Partnership program students must normally also enroll in courses from the current DIS offerings, so that the U.S.-taught course is one (max. 3-credit) course within the existing curriculum

Visiting Faculty at DIS

U.S. faculty from Partner Institutions are invited to apply to teach at DIS during a semester or summer program. DIS will assist in establishing a professional network and connecting visiting faculty with European counterparts.
