This program is designed for students seeking to gain:

  • A solid knowledge of the European Union (EU), its institutions, governance, policies, and significance for European integration
  • Theoretical and hands-on insight into the processes that shape European politics – and politics in general
  • An understanding of Europe’s position and aspirations in international politics

Study Tours

DIS places strong emphasis on combining classroom work with experiential learning so that you walk away with applicable, real life, cross-cultural skills for the global job market.

Study Tours – each semester:

  • Western Denmark/Northern Germany (Short tour). This regional study tour typically visits a local government institution dealing with the EU (lobbying) and an important airforce or naval base (defense and security). It also includes cultural and historical visits
  • Brussels - The Hague (Long tour). Hands-on introduction to European and international politics through visits to EU institutions, special interest groups, NATO Headquarters and an exciting political actors interview exercise in Brussels, as well as the European Court of Justice and national government organs in Luxembourg. In addition, there are cultural visits
