Objectives

The International Business & Economics program is designed for students majoring in business, economics, or related fields. It offers you

  • The ability to understand and analyze how businesses operate and create value in the European and global marketplace
  • Hands-on insight into the European corporate world through cases with real companies and business visits in Denmark and Europe
  • A solid knowledge of the European business environment, including the EU laws and institutions which regulate business practices and trade
  • An understanding of the forces behind globalization through theories of trade, capital markets, and economic development

Study Tours

DIS places strong emphasis on combining classroom work with experiential learning so that you walk away with applicable, real life, cross-cultural skills for the global job market.

Study Tours – each semester

Students choose between long tour destinations.

  • Denmark (Short tour). Through visits to Danish and international companies, you will gain hands-on knowledge and understanding of current issues in corporate strategy, marketing, competition, EU relations, globalization and other areas relevant to the courses. Various cultural and historical visits included
  • Business Track

  • London (Long tour). Interaction with the European business scene through visits to local and multinational companies, institutions and organizations operating in the largest financial center of Europe- London. Various cultural and historical visits are included.
  • Berlin/Hamburg (Long tour). First-hand impressions of the European business scene through visits to local and multinational companies, institutions and organizations operating in the biggest European country - Germany. Various cultural and historical visits included
  • Brussels (Long tour). This week long study tour in Brussels will explore multinational corporations based in the capital of the European Union. Students will also have a chance to visit various organizations that lobby the European Union on behalf of European business interests. There will various cultural and historical visits are included.
  • Economics Track

  • Brussels/Frankfurt(Long tour). First-hand impressions of the effects of globalization on the European economy through visits to lobbying organizations, multinational companies and government institutions. Various cultural and historical visits are included.
