TOGETHER ... the core course and study tours, by applying the themes of memory and identity to specific European destinations, offer you

  • A comprehensive view of the social, political and artistic culture as well as the historical background of an important European country
  • An understanding of factors that contribute to the creation of specific national cultures and identities in general
  • The ability to make comparative observations between the country under investigation, Denmark, and your home country

The core course is an interdisciplinary study in the first half of the semester. By applying the themes of Memory and Identity to a specific European destination (choose one of the above), the core course will enable you to

  • Explore the past and present of a particular region acting as a case study for cultural-historical reflection and analysis
  • Identify and classify major works of art and literature originating from the culture and region examined
  • Critique the contemporary life and culture through a comparative lens and first-hand observation
  • Provide an overview of the historical development of the region and introduce you to current social trends
  • Comprehend the act of travelling itself within a European context

Study Tours

Short Tours

  • Denmark (Short tour). This regional study tour in Denmark, typically visits historical and architectural landmarks - towns, cathedrals, castles - art collections, contemporary institutions and interesting landscapes

Long Tours

  • A longer European study tour related to your region of interest:
    • France: Paris-Reims-Verdun
    • Germany: Berlin-Dresden
    • Czech Republic: Prague-Ceský Krumlow
