Further your understanding of current policies and issues and provide theoretical and hands-on insight into the processes that shape European politics
TOGETHER ... the core courses and study tours in the Justice & Human Rights track will:
Provide you with a thorough understanding of the legal aspects and political context influencing the decision-making process that have been implemented as a result of several major human rights violations in Europe
DIS places strong emphasis on combining classroom work with experiential learning so that you walk away with applicable, real life, cross-cultural skills for the global job market.
Study Tours – each semester
Western Denmark/Northern Germany (Short tour both tracks). This regional study tour typically visits a local government institution dealing with the EU (lobbying) and an important airforce or naval base (defense and security). It also includes cultural and historical visits
Brussels - The Hague (Long tour European Politics track). Hands-on introduction to European and international politics through visits to EU institutions, special interest groups, NATO Headquarters and an exciting political actors interview exercise in Brussels, as well as the European Court of Justice and national government organs in Luxembourg. In addition, there are cultural visits
The Balkans (Long tour Justice & Human Rights track). The scene of the Yugoslavian civil wars and their accompanying atrocities in the 1990s
