Objectives

The Medical Practice & Policy program is designed for students with a serious, documented interest in medicine and the required science background. It offers you

  • A unique clinical course for pre-med students, not available in the US
  • Valuable hands on experience such as patient cases and clinical lab exercises
  • Improved chances of getting into the medical school of your choice

Study Tours

DIS places strong emphasis on combining classroom work with experiential learning so that you walk away with applicable, real life, cross-cultural skills for the global job market.

Study Tours – each semester

  • Denmark (Short tour). See the Danish health care system at work and experience various ways of practicing medicine, from the hospital setting to general/private practice. Cultural and historical visits also included
  • Berlin/Poznan (Long tour). In Berlin, students observe different areas of medicine as well as advances in medical research. In Poznan, students study medical practice in a pediatric clinic and other wards at a hospital. Cultural landmarks of Berlin and Poznan will also be visited
  • OR
  • Stockholm/Tallinn (Long tour). Exposes students to medical practice and health care systems of Sweden and Estonia. Visit hospitals, clinics, as well as cultural landmarks of Stockholm and Tallinn

The program-integrated study tours, which are covered by the DIS tuition, expose students to medical practice and health care systems of both Northern European (Sweden or Germany) and Eastern European (Poland or Estonia) countries.
