Advising Summer Students

Summer Study Abroad

In early summer 2010, DIS offers 25 3-credit courses within a variety of academic fields. The professional programs, on the other hand (Nursing, Architecture, Design), are thoroughly integrated programs of six or seven weeks. During the early sessions, the courses are offered in two consecutive sessions:

Session 1 (May 19 - June 9)
Session 2 (June 12 - July 2)

In Session 1, each course includes a three-day study tour in Denmark or Sweden. In Session 2, the courses include a five-day study tour in Scandinavia or Europe. (European Business Strategy has a five-day tour in both sessions). Students can choose to enroll in one course for 3 credits, either in Session 1 or Session 2.  Or students can enroll in two courses for 6 credits, one in Session 1 and one in Session 2. Most summer students choose this option for 6 credits.

Students are free to combine any two courses from Sessions 1 and 2. They can take both courses within one and the same academic field or they can diversify. Syllabi for all courses - when available - can be viewed or downloaded by clicking through to the course pages below.

Danish building culture combines elements that are local and historical with the global and theoretical. The program at DIS allows students to not merely see the built artifacts of a foreign country, but to engage in the culture, and understand the processes that led to the current environment.
