Visiting Faculty at DIS

DIS provides several faculty development opportunities for our US colleagues. Working together also benefits our own faculty, who enjoy international collaboration and ongoing development of their own. U.S. faculty from DIS Partner Institutions are invited to apply to teach an upper division three-credit course for one semester at DIS in Copenhagen.

Course Proposals

The proposed course should complement the existing DIS curriculum and be adapted to take advantage of local/regional resources. Faculty should submit proposals ideally one year in advance for consideration by the Faculty Executive Committee. Potential faculty must visit DIS in advance to meet the appropriate staff and faculty so proper arrangements can be made for teaching and living in Copenhagen.

Proposals should include:

Remuneration and Benefits

DIS will provide:

DIS will assist in establishing a professional network and in researching housing and other practical matters.

The DIS program is incredibly rich in its organization, academics and student-centered approach. The high quality of DIS stems from the involvement of faculty and staff who are deeply committed to quality undergraduate education with a global perspective.
