Study Abroad Quality Assurance

DIS maintains an elaborate system of quality control and development in order to deliver a comprehensive, high-quality educational product. While there is no single accepted measure of quality in study abroad, the fact that many of America’s top universities and colleges have chosen to become DIS partners vouches for the performance of the institution.

DIS Faculty

DIS faculty are experts in their fields, teaching either full time or part time while maintaining successful careers in business, architecture, research, media, politics, and other professions. All have final university degrees qualifying them to teach at Danish institutions of higher education. Our faculty, administrators, staff and students are engaged in a constant feedback loop through which student impressions, successes and concerns are communicated to the program’s decision-makers – and acted upon. DIS also holds Faculty Seminars, where faculty members spend a weekend discussing curriculum development ideas and DIS academic strategy. Read the latest faculty seminar program.

Danish Educators Workshop

Every spring DIS invites approximately 25 instructors to participate in a ‘Danish Educators Workshop’ at the University of Minnesota’s Center for Teaching and Learning Services for training in the latest teaching and learning techniques and to enhance the DIS faculty’s competences as educators in an intercultural classroom.

Quality Endorsement

The University of Minnesota’s Learning Abroad Center conducted a review of DIS’ academic program in Copenhagen in 2011. Read the latest report and the DIS response.

As an international educator who sends students to participate in DIS programs, I continue to be impressed with the thoughtful crafting of each program. They offer a special core curriculum supplemented by focused study tours that provide breadth and depth of study to facilitate student learning.
