This weekend DIS students set sail on a Tall Ship Sailing Trip through Øresunds, the straight between Sweden and Denmark. Anomalous to the normal Denmark weather, there was very little wind, but students enjoyed the beautiful sunny skies, a short-lived and brisk evening dip in the sea, and watched the sun set over Denmark. The students were responsible for assisting the crew in raising and lowering the sails of Maja, the name of the ship, in which there were four main sails. They even had the option of scaling the ship’s rope ladders for an exhilarating panorama. After a sound slumber on board the ships, the group awoke in the morning and took Maj, the ship’s rowboat, to the shore of the island of Kyrkbacken for a morning hike. The crowd near the Danish Queen’s castle greeted the group as they docked Maja at Ameliehaven in Copenhagen.
