On Tuesday 21 September, between 6pm-8pm in Copenhagen at Øster Farimagsgade 5, opgang (entrance) 1, 1st floor , Olsen will share his experiences from the first fully documented world run in history. Olsen ran around the world in under two years. The route totaled 26,000 km, exceeding the previous record of 23,000. He averaged 28 miles a day - slightly more than a marathon.

The main focus of the talk is on how to motivate yourself towards 'impossible' goals. This is done with practical examples from "World Run 1" and "World Run 2", extreme runs of 26,000 and 40,000km through several years and across 5 continents.

Using the example of several years of planning and the building a reliable international team will display both the value of high-quality preparation to meet 'unknown' obstacles in a rapidly changing world, as well as how to motivate people with different backgrounds and cultures.

An important part of being successful in these events is the ability to communicate and involve people from very different cultures, which illustrates how to quickly gain understanding of cultures that at a first glance may appear to be out-of-reach or unrelated to your own goals.

Further background information before the lecture can be found at the official website www.worldrun.org.
