DIS Diversity
At DIS we aim to create a welcoming study environment where the individual can reach full potential.
We acknowledge that the individual students are more than just their gender, skin color, sexual orientation, religion or social class. We aim at empowering our students with the resources and opportunities to bring their whole selves to the study abroad experience.
The study abroad experience is a chance to see yourself and to be seen in a new context. This can be equally exciting and frightening because regardless of how you identify yourself ‘at home,’ you will be a foreigner while studying abroad and will be part of the minority.
Denmark has traditionally been a very homogenous society, but walking down the streets of Copenhagen, you will see that, today, the society is becoming increasingly diverse. In particular, Copenhagen has a long tradition of creating an inclusive community with room for individuals to express their full identity.
