Sustainability Task Force

The Sustainability Task Force is a DIS initiative that aims to improve the environmental impact of the organization in the ways it conducts itself. DIS already embodies a fair amount of environmental responsibility in all that it does but we want to further develop our environmental sustainability, and to make our students more aware of what measures can and should be taken, so they can take those lessons with them wherever they go in life. To this end we invite students to join a taskforce with DIS staff and faculty, in an effort to steer DIS towards greater sustainability in a comprehensive way that aims to affect the most people and practices for the positive. Class Representatives

Each semester DIS looks for class representatives to become an official spokesperson for their class group, addressing any concerns that may arise (in academic or related matters), suggesting improvements and coming up with new ideas.

Class representatives are a great way for DIS faculty to ensure better and timelier feedback on their courses, assessments and teaching styles, and as such perform an invaluable role in connecting student needs with faculty instruction during term time.

Student Activities Committee

DIS also runs a Student Activities Committee where a group of students meet up to discuss and brainstorm ideas for social and cultural events around Copenhagen. Rather than organizing events from the top down, DIS encourages the Student Activities Committee to develop student-initiated activities that reflect the interests and wishes of those currently studying abroad in Copenhagen.

The Student Activities Committee works closely with the DIS Housing & Student Services Department, with whom they prioritize initiatives and allocate financial subsidies. The committee is also charged with coming up with ways to promote activities and events and to encourage student participation. Read more on the Student Activities Committee.
