Nomination and Platform Submission
Please read the Student Activities Committee webpage thoroughly before submitting your nomination and platform.
Please also read the below guidelines and make sure that they are something that you will be capable and willing to follow. By submitting your nomination and platform to run for one of the representative positions on the Student Activities Committee, you are acknowledging that you have read and will follow the below guidelines:
- As a representative on the Student Activities Committee, I will aim to promote access to cultural experiences to as many members of the DIS community as possible.
- I am willing to work cooperatively with my representative peers on the SAC, make compromises, and adhere to a majority-rule decision-making process.
- I will live up to my fair share of the SAC’s responsibility to thoroughly organize and lead all SAC-initiated student activities.
- I understand that SAC-initiated activities should be made available to all DIS students, and that SAC members may take up no more than 20% of the available spots.
- I realize that all SAC-initiated proposals are subject to approval by DIS staff.
- I commit to attending at least four of the six SAC meetings over the duration of the semester.
To apply for a position on the DIS Student Activities Committee, please respond with a minimum of 250 words addressing the following questions:
- Why do you want to be a representative on the Student Activities Committee while abroad?
- What will your approach be to creating immersion opportunities for your fellow students?
- What skills and/or experience do you think you will contribute to the SAC?
- If you could execute one idea for an activity/event while abroad this semester, what would it be?
