Sustainability Task Force
Practicing What We Teach
Why a Sustainability Task Force?
DIS has decided to put an even greater focus on sustainability and has formed a Sustainability Task Force to help identify and work to implement measures which can be taken to improve its environmental impact.
The Sustainability Task Force is made up of DIS staff and students who each bring to the table differing (yet complimentary) perspectives on sustainability and DIS as an institution. Their combined competencies and ideas will steer DIS towards greater sustainability in a comprehensive way that aims to affect the most people and practices for the positive.
The task force’s mission is to:
- Figure out ways that DIS can make its practices more environmentally sustainable in relation to its facilities operations, resource consumption, waste generation, etc.; and
- Promote a culture of higher environmental regard amongst DIS staff, faculty and students by raising awareness, practical know-how, and enthusiasm to act on both an individual and group level.
The composition of the task force is:
Two DIS staff:
- Kaitlin Vernon, Sustainability in Europe Program Assistant
- Bryn Lindblad, Sustainability Coordinator & Facilities Assistant
And five highly-motivated students with diverse educational and experiential backgrounds.
If you are an incoming student and would like to apply to be a member of the task force, please fill out this form entirely and submit it no later than Friday, February 3rd. You will be informed by the following Monday, February 6th if you have been selected to be a part of this undertaking.
Got a good idea for the Sustainability Task Force?
If so, please let them know about it by sending them an email at sustainabilitytaskforce@dis.dk. They would welcome any of your input, whether it's a well-developed concept or just a rough idea; just pass it along, and they'll look into it!
