Library Library

Welcome to the DIS Library

DIS maintains a small study and reference library staffed by a full-time, fully trained librarian, an intern, and several friendly, helpful assistants. It is open 92 hours a week, making it the second most accessible library in Denmark. The DIS Library is a reference library for students, which is both useful and user friendly. The collection consists of books, and other materials in English specific to the fields covered by the DIS curriculum, as well as a collection of course-relevant international journals and periodicals. Search the Library Database.

Extensive Resources

The library contains approximately 12,000 books, 110 international journals and 550 films in English, or with English subtitles, all related to the fields covered by the DIS curriculum. In addition, as a DIS student you have full access to the major Copenhagen research libraries, with whom DIS has special agreements of cooperation. These include the Royal Library (Denmark’s Library of Congress) which includes on-line access to its catalogs and various external databases, Copenhagen Business School Library, plus many specialized libraries, such as the Library of the Danish Institute of International Relations and the Library of the School of Architecture. You can access the catalogs of all these libraries on the DIS Library’s homepage, make searches, and check out books.

Academic Databases

The DIS library offers you access to three larger academic databases covering most of the fields taught at DIS. These are JSTOR,  an online database with access to about 15,000 full-text articles; ProQuest, a database with articles and primary sources; and Ebsco Academic Search Elite, a database that provides access to more than 2,000 full-text journals.

The library is divided into five rooms:
