Architecture & Design Program: June 17 – August 3, 2012

Course Title:Study TourPrerequisites (if any)
Architectural Design StudioWestern Denmark and Sweden-Finland or Norway-SwedenEnrollment at a professional school/department of architecture or design at the junior, senior or graduate level, and have completed a minimum of two spatial design studios. Scandinavian Design and Architecture: History, Theory and Practice will be taken in conjunction with this course to complete the 9 credit package.
Architectural Foundations StudioWestern Denmark and Sweden-Finland or Norway-SwedenEnrollment at a professional school/department of architecture or design at the junior, senior or graduate level, and have completed a minimum of two spatial design studios. Scandinavian Design and Architecture: History, Theory and Practice will be taken in conjunction with this course to complete the 9 credit package.
Note: Pre-Architecture students must have a background in fine/studio art or have completed a drawing course as a prerequisite for this course.
Furniture Design Studio and WorkshopSweden-FinlandEnrollment at a professional school/department of architecture or design at the junior, senior, or graduate level. Prior experience with furniture design, stationary power tools and hand tools is required. Furniture Design in Scandinavia will be taken in conjunction with this course to complete the 9 credit package.
Information Design StudioWestern Denmark and Sweden-FinlandDocumented background in Studio Art or Design, or completion of a course in drawing. Basic knowledge of one or more programs in the Adobe Suite. Scandinavian Design and Architecture: History, Theory and Practice will be taken in conjuction with this course to complete the 9 credit package.
Interior Architecture StudioWestern Denmark and Sweden-Finland or Norway-SwedenWestern Denmark and Sweden-Finland or Norway-Sweden / Enrollment at a professional school/department of architecture or design at the junior, senior or graduate level, and have completed a minimum of two spatial design studios. Scandinavian Design and Architecture: History, Theory and Practice will be taken in conjunction with this course to complete the 9 credit package.
Textile Design Studio and WorkshopSweden-FinlandDesigned for juniors, seniors and graduate students majoring in studio art, fashion design, interior design or other relevant majors/backgrounds. Prior experience with textile design and printing, as well as courses in design history, are recommended but not required. User knowledge of Photoshop is required.  Textile Design in Scandinavia will be taken in conjunction with this course to complete the 9 credit package.
Urban Design StudioWestern Denmark and Sweden-Finland or Norway-SwedenEnrollment at a professional school/department of architecture or design at the junior, senior or graduate level, and have completed a minimum of two spatial design studios. Scandinavian Design and Architecture: History, Theory and Practice will be taken in conjunction with this course to complete the 9 credit package.
