Psychology of Human Sexuality

| Study Tour:
A study of human sexuality emphasizing psychological aspects and focusing on topics such as sexual development, gender, sexual attitudes and behavior, and sex therapy. One goal of this class is to develop a greater awareness of your own sexuality and the sexuality of others. The tour to Brussels will include visits with organizations, NGO’s, and researchers dealing with sex education and psychological components of sexuality.
Prerequisites
A university-level psychology course.

Marie Helweg-Larsen
Prof. Helweg-Larsen is a visiting faculty from Dickinson College, Carlisle, Pennsylvania. She received her PhD in Social Psychology from UCLA and conducts research in the causes, consequences, and correlates of the optimistic bias (people thinking they are less at risk than their peers). She is a native Dane and is currently investigating in a NIH-funded grant moralization and smoking attitudes among smokers and non-smokers in the U.S. and Denmark.
