Description
Oslo is an important region in the study of the link between technology and culture in the creation and maintenance of a sustainable environment – ecologically as well as socially. This tour will attempt to investigate conventional and unconventional energy sources with regard to their environmental and social impacts. Students will gain understanding of how current methods of energy use affect climate change and what can be done to reduce this impact and analyze how modern communities are using energy efficient technology to reduce human impact on the environment.
In addition to the academic activities on this study tour to Norway, the study tour program is supplemented with cultural visits to relevant and exciting sites and events to help engaged students to the fullest extent. In the past, cultural visits have included a hike up Mount Fløien, a visit to the Viking Ship Museum, and the sampling of traditional Norwegian food.
