Independent Housing (Self-Arranged) Arrange Your Own Housing

You are more than welcome to arrange your own housing in Copenhagen!

In this case you do not pay the Comprehensive Housing Fee, but you will have to pay for local transportation to classes and to field studies yourself. This can be a good option for students with limited financial resources or students that would prefer to live in downtown Copenhagen.

DIS offers some good tips about independent housing and posts various room/apartment offers on the DIS Forum for new students . However we cannot assist with rent payments, deposits, furnishings, bedding etc.

Deadline for Switching

The deadline for switching from DIS-arranged Housing to Independent Housing is one month before the arrival date.

If you switch after these deadlines, a cancellation fee plus additional direct costs associated with the housing change will be payable.
