Psychology
The Psychology program encourages students to form articulate, intelligent opinions on current trends in today’s society, enabling them to become leaders in the field of psychology. Students will critically debate cultural and social differences in psychological practice, and learn to apply recent advances in research to practical experience.
Core Courses
Depending on the track you choose, you will focus either on how individuals, institutions, policy makers, and researchers apply positive psychology, or how clinical approaches to diagnosis and treatment relate to health and culture.
Prerequisites: A university-level psychology course for Positive Psychology and Cross-Cultural Psychology. A university-level abnormal psychology course for European Clinical Psychology.
Study Tours
- A short study tour in Denmark - Positive Psychology or European Clinical Psychology or Cross-Cultural Psychology
Visits enable students to understand psychology in a broader Danish context. The tour may include visits to Danish workplaces, consulting firms, and university lectures.
- A longer European study tour to either Scotland, Italy, or London for Positive Psychology. Vienna for European Clinical Psychology. Cross-Cultural Psychology will tour Berlin.
The tours give students a greater understanding of positive or clinical psychology from a European perspective. Each of the destinations encourage students to explore the historical, economic, and social backgrounds of their topic. Tours may include visits with policy makers in mental health, NGOs, and interactive workshops at research facilities.
