Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainable Business Practices

This class involves a study of the ways in which different actors address sustainability and corporate social responsibility. The main focus will be on Scandinavian corporations and their responses to demands and expectations from stakeholders such as governments, NGOs, investors and consumers with regard to corporate social, environmental and ethical performance, including human rights, environmental issues, working conditions and diversity.

- Sustainability in Copenhagen
- Students will explore different exhibits and expos relating to sustainability, climate change, and corporate social responsibility. Past visits have included visits to the Danish Government Centre for CSR, Lundbeck (an international pharmaceutical company), and Better Place (a company working with electric cars to create a sustainable transportation system).

Anne Brandt Christensen
Cand.jur. (Law, University of Copenhagen, 1995) and Advokat (Danish Bar). Chairman of the NGO HopeNow, has worked with anti-trafficking in Denmark and internationally since 2007, including the Danish Red Cross. Has worked with CSR and sustainability for corporations in Denmark and internationally since 2000. With DIS since 2007.
