Through an interactive and dynamic teaching methodology, this course will give you practical hands-on experience in all aspects of the travel and tourism industry.
From a branding perspective, you will learn about the tools and skills needed to successfully brand countries, regions, and cities.
From a business strategy perspective, you will get a deep understanding of business models and growth strategies of companies operating at different levels of the travel supply chain (Hotels/Tour Operators/Airlines etc.).
The main feature of this course is the study tour to a major European tourism destination, which will be designed from scratch by you and your team mates personally. This implies creating the travel concept, drafting the tour program, setting the budget in a complex spreadsheet, negotiating and contracting with selected local service providers, and executing the tour on location.
Throughout the course you will also be working on an issue of an online Travel Magazine ( http://traveldisplay.dis.dk/ ). You will be cast in the role of writers and editors, and you will publish short stories about Destination Branding, Traveling in Europe, Airlines and Hotels
Note: The 6 day / 5night study tour to a European destination will be run during the travel break in October, and will be at an additional fee of USD 1095,-. Participation is madatory.
