Epidemiology – Danish Case Studies

By using research data from the unique and internationally renowned Danish Civil Register System, students will develop an understanding of the cause of disease in the context of the individual, community, and environment. The course will provide an overview of epidemiologic methods as applied to the study of health and chronic disease in the Danish population. Formal statistical modeling will be used to analyze and critique current issues and epidemiologic studies.
This course will focus on Epidemiology as:
- A quantitative science (knowledge of probabilities)
- A method (for causal reasoning)
- A tool (for promotional and protective action)

- The National Patient Register
