This course will give students an overview of the field of clinical psychology and the many activities of clinical psychologists within the European/Danish context. We will cover contemporary theories of abnormality, psychological disorders, empirically supported assessment and treatment approaches and preventative measures, as well as psychological problem areas related to health and culture. We will discuss controversial issues in the field and consider the differences in US and Danish approaches to diagnostics and treatment by looking at our two different diagnostic systems (DSM IV in the US and ICD-10 in Europe) and subsequent therapies.
Prerequisites
An abnormal psychology course.
