What does it take to be an international reporter? Learn how to effectively produce international content for an American audience. In this hands-on practical course, students will learn how journalism functions through an intercultural lens by being part of an international news source. Check it out at dispatch.dis.dk.
The course begins with a short intensive reporting workshop where students will develop a clear understanding of the fundamentals related to interviewing, journalistic ethics, cultural sensitivity and print vs. web writing. After the workshop, you will have the unique opportunity to put your knowledge into practice and spend the semester as both a published international reporter and editor for The Dispatch. The class will work as a staff to produce The Dispatch, an online news publication affiliated with DIS (dispatch.dis.dk).
International Reporting is open to students with or without a background in journalism.
