Literary Landscapes of the Mind

This class will focus on psychoanalytical readings of literature, paintings, sculpture and film.We will look at how artists have taken the inner workings of the mind and expressed it through words and visual media.We will examine why we are moved by things, why we find certain images and ideas scare us, and how we bring our own consciousness and experience to bear on works created by others.
