Power of Thought in Europe, The

Majors: Ethics, History, Philosophy, and Political Science

In this course, we will read, discuss and analyze some of the major European critical thinkers and concepts including knowledge, truth, and progress from the Enlightenment to modernity. Based on the examples set by philosophical masters of the past, you will also have to critically evaluate and analyze cases and trends in contemporary society ("Muhammed Crisis", "Multiculturalism", "Society of Surveillance"), and thereby develop your own critical and analytical skills.

Field Studies

Guided Historical Walk
Students will be able to learn about Copenhagen in the Age of Enlightenment on an interesting walking tour through the city.
