Textile Design in Scandinavia Workshop

The course combines design and methods of printing for interior textiles with readings and discussion on the subject of textile design . The course will include a workshop component where printing methods will be taught and the student’s own designs are realized. During the course students will go on site visits to designers, producers and projects in the Danish context. These trips highlight the communication process that insures product quality in an outsourced design process. The course will run for half of the semester in an intense format.

Textile designer (Designskolen Kolding, 1994). Specialized in printed textiles. Timney Fowler Design Studio, London 1995-1997. Own textile studio from 1997-2004. Teaching at Designskolen Kolding since 1999. With DIS since 2006.

Helle Vibeke Jensen
(JB) Textile engineer, Krefeld, Germany. Lecturer at Danmarks Designskole 1973 - 2000. Extensive lecturing in textile printing, color chemistry and textile technology in the Scandinavian countries, USA, Canada Australia and Japan. Head of Textile, Paper and Leather Conservation at the National Museum of Denmark, 2000 - 2003. Free lance lecturer in textile chemistry and technology. With DIS since 2005.
