Landscape Architecture
Using Copenhagen as a laboratory, students solve real-life problems using analytical and design methods specifically devised for urban design and landscape questions. Some sections in the Urban Design Studio will focus on issues of sustainable design. Second-semester Studio offers the opportunity to carry out research-based assignments.
The studio is taught as a vertical studio, i.e. students of different standing are in the same studio groups. Expectations relate to the standing of the individual student. Full-year students take Urban Design Studio as a Core course both semesters, or they may switch to Architectural Design Studio or Interior Architecture Studio in the spring.
Prerequisites
Enrollment at a professional school or department of architecture or design at the junior, senior or graduate level, and completion of a minimum of two spatial design studios prior to arrival at DIS.
Co-requisite
‘European Urban Design Theories’.
