Description

This program tour is designed to show students the different aspects of the biomedical profession and allow the opportunity to get inside labs and companies. To understand the differences and also the connection between industry and university research as well as the transfer into the business side of pharmaceuticals is extremely important. In the past, students have stepped inside the world of biomedicine by touring labs, large pharmaceutical companies and various departments at the University of Edinburgh. The biotechnology and biomedical tours are informative, engaging and help students see the side of science awaiting after graduation.

In addition to the academic activities on this study tour to Scotland, the program is supplemented with cultural visits to relevant and exciting sites and events to help engaged students to the fullest extent.  In the past, cultural visits have included a hike to King Authur’s Seat, a visit to the Scottish Parliament, and, of course, sampling Scottish cuisine.
