Description
This program tour gives students a chance to engage in a dialogue with some of the organizations and institutions that determine policies on local, national, regional and global interactions in the a increasingly interconnected marketplace. In past trips, students have sat in on sessions in the European Parliament, met with entrepreneurs in emerging industries such as carbon asset trading and development, discussed the importance of climate action with the Secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, and toured the European Central Bank, the financial center of the European Union.
In addition to the academic activities on this study tour to Brussels, the study tour program is supplemented with cultural visits to relevant and engaging sites and events to help students gain a greater understanding of the cultural sites of Europe. In the past, cultural visits have included a presentation on and tasting of world famous Belgium chocolate, guided tours of each city and visits to some of Europe’s renowned museums.
Starting in Spring 2012, students will travel to both Brussels and Paris during their week-long tour. More to come on the details of the Paris component.
