Objectives

  • Examine the clinical role, function, and organization of the Danish health care system through exposure to primary care, clinical settings, and research institutions.

Previous Activities Have Included

  • Visit to the Center of Functionally Integrative Neuroscience and PET Center at Aarhus University Hospital
  • Presentation and tour from general practitioners
  • Endoscopy tour at a large clinical experimental facility at Aarhus University Hospital, Skejby

Description

This study tour provides you with the opportunity to explore the clinical aspect of the health care system in Denmark, while furthering your understanding of the role of the general practitioner in Denmark.  On this tour, you will also be able to investigate cutting-edge medical research by leaders in the field and gain firsthand experience with basic clinical skills.   Academic visits on tour could include meeting with general practitioners, visiting with different hospital departments, as well as gaining insight into medical research projects by visiting Danish universities. 

In addition to the academic activities on study tour, the study tour program is supplemented with cultural visits to relevant and exciting sites and events to help engaged students to the fullest extent.  In the past, cultural visits have included staying at a Danish boarding school, touring castles, and experiencing traditional Danish food.
