The short study tour to Western Denmark focuses on the problems of immigration and integration that you study as an introduction to the course. You will explore integration initiatives, meet with researchers who study these issues, and come face to face with the immigrants who are directly affected by integration policy. Meetings with initiatives and researches will help you to develop your opinions
You will meet with a number of immigrants: members of the ‘Role Model’ & ‘Mentor’ programs at the Women’s Museum in Århus and a representatives of the communal development plan for the so-called ‘ghetto’ in Gellerup. These meetings will provide you with the opportunity to challenge the stereotypical notions of what immigrant communities are in Denmark.
