Adventure Trips Adventure Trips

A Unique Feature

So that you get the most out of your time abroad, DIS arranges fun, active, elective trips that take advantage of the outdoors. The destinations are off the beaten path and allow you to see a different side of Europe.

Outdoor Adventure Trips

Outdoor Adventure Trips are not embedded in a course and do not yield any credits. They are purely fun and, well ... full of adventures and activities! The trips are geared towards those wanting to explore the outdoors, be active and see a more rugged side of Europe. Most of the adventure trips are suitable for a variety of abilities, so unleash your adventurous spirit and try something new!

Three of the trips, the Academic Adventure Trips, to Samsø, Amsterdam and the Danish island of Funen, do offer a learning experience! You will focus on a theme and gain more insight on the destination. DIS subsidizes the trips by 15 percent of the cost on average.

DIS Travel Break

The two program-integrated study tours, covered by tuition, take place during the first half of the semester. In the second half of the semester there is a two-week travel break, in which you can travel on your own or join DIS on a optional study tour, adventure trip, or both. It is up to you to decide. The weekend tours and trips are independent of the travel break.
